On Saturday at 1:17 a.m. the National Weather Service issued a beach hazards statement valid from 11 a.m. until Sunday June 15, at 11 p.m. for Orange County Coast.
“Elevated surf of 3 to 6 feet with sets up to 7 feet on south facing beaches expected,” according to the NWS San Diego CA. “South swell (190 degrees) at 3 feet with a period initially at 19 seconds Saturday afternoon, gradually falling to 16-17 seconds Sunday.”
“Strong rip currents will create hazardous swimming conditions,” the NWS said. “Remain out of the water to avoid hazardous swimming conditions.”
